Inspired by the pagan traditions of Eastern Europe, in witch nature possesses mythical powers and the progression of the year is marked by the sun. I created a series of textiles for the modern day funky pagan to bring back the spirit of honouring nature into the every day. The winter and summer solstice are a key days of celebration, marking the longest and shortest days of the year. Likewise, the dwindling and blooming of nature is incorporated into traditions. This inspired an exploration in the weaving technique, creating a double weave gradient marking the flourish and withering.
